I start from where you are when you walk through my door. What are your current life challenges? Where do you feel stuck? What is causing you pain? What are your hopes for the future? We will work together to meet your goals in a supportive, non-judgmental and respectful environment. My approach is active, collaborative and strength based.
I focus on present struggles and understanding and healing wounds from the past and making decisions in the here and now. I have an integrated systems approach to recovery, healing and growth.
As a seasoned therapist, with over 35 years of experience I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues: intimacy disorders, traumas, abuse, neglect, loss, grief, and family of origin issues. My clients are often struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, marital and family problems, low self-esteem, stress, difficulty in making decisions and moving forward. I have extensive training in individual, couples, family and group therapy.
My expertise is working with partners, couples and families from the trauma perspective. I am one of the only therapists in New England who is certified in both Sex Addiction (CSAT) and Partner Trauma (CCPS). I am committed to working with partners who have experienced betrayal trauma on their road to healing, recovery, growth and discovery. I focus on resilience, self-care, self-compassion and making empowered decisions.
I also work with couples and families who are struggling with the damage to their relationships due to betrayal and lies. I provide a safe place to explore the shock, pain, anger, conflict, grief and loss together and learn tools to improve communication and resolve conflicts. The focus is on working toward relationship repair, developing empathy and connection.
I incorporate many clinical approaches including psychodynamic, interpersonal, psycho-educational, CBT, family systems and mindfulness. I work collaboratively with other treating therapists and residential treatment programs.
